Eligibility and Educational Qualification
Every case requires an MBBS (or equivalent) recognised by the Pakistan Medical Commission / PM&DC, plus the specialty qualification for that case.
Medicine and Surgery
- FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, MD or Diplomate American Board in the relevant specialty, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Pakistan Medical Commission.
- If no candidate with that qualification is available, a qualification in General Surgery or Medicine (whichever applies) with three years of post-graduation practical experience in the specialty at a recognised institute.
Paediatric Ophthalmology
- Registration with the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
- Either a postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Ophthalmology, or one in Ophthalmology with one year of experience in Paediatric Ophthalmology after post-graduation.
Cardiac Anesthesia
- FCPS in Cardiac Anesthesia, Diplomate American Board in Cardiac Anesthesia, FRCA with CST in Cardiac Anesthesia, or an equivalent qualification.
- If none is available, a postgraduate qualification in Anesthesia (FCPS, FRCA, MS or equivalent) plus one year of practical experience in Cardiac Anesthesia.
Paediatric Cardiology
- A postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Cardiology is the first preference. The notice then sets out fallback tiers (FCPS Paediatrics, MD Paediatrics, MRCPCH or Diplomate American Board of Paediatrics) that need one or two years of Paediatric Cardiology experience. Age Limit for Senior Registrar Jobs
The age rule is the same in all five cases:
- Male: 25 to 45 years, plus 5 years’ relaxation, so up to 50 years
- Female: 25 to 45 years, plus 8 years’ relaxation, so up to 53 years
- Transgender: age and sex are decided from the contents of the CNIC
Employees of federal or semi-government bodies and local government do not get age concession for the period of their service.
Experience Conditions You Should Not Miss
Experience claims are where many applications run into trouble, so check these points carefully:
- Only practical experience in a recognised institution counts, and it must be supported by appointment letters, notifications or office orders.
- Government experience on contract, current charge, acting charge or ad-hoc basis is accepted only if issued by the appointing or competent authority.
- OPS/designated-basis experience is counted only up to 17 June 2021.
- BOM and TTS (Tenure Track System) experience must be recognised by PMDC/PMC, and a separate certificate is required.
- Experience from foreign or autonomous bodies and private institutions is accepted only if it is recognised and issued by PMDC/PMC.
- For private firms, the candidate must show at the interview that the firm is registered with SECP, the Registrar of Firms or another regulatory authority.
PMDC/PMC Registration
Your registration must stay valid until the closing date of the post. If it has expired or is under renewal, you must show proof of renewal on or before the closing date.
Test and Interview
The advertisement does not give a test or interview date. PPSC says test schedules, syllabus and related information will be published only on its official website, so check it regularly. If a shorthand, typing or proficiency test is required, it will be held in Lahore.

- Find the case number for your specialty (34 to 38-RD/2026) and match your qualification and experience with it.
- Submit your online application before 26 October 2026.
- Pay the fee only through the approved channels: ATMs, mobile phone banking, internet banking, over the counter at 1Link member bank branches, Jazz Cash, Easy Paisa, U Paisa and other microfinance banks.

Documents to Keep Ready
- Degree and marks certificates issued by the competent authority. CGPAs are not acceptable, so a total marks or percentage certificate is needed.
- An HEC or QEDC equivalence certificate if your qualification is foreign or claimed as equivalent.
- A valid PM&DC/PMC registration certificate.
- An NOC or DPC from your department if you are in service, to be provided at the interview if called.
